A Western New York native, Donna Lorenzo is an active chamber musician, soloist and teacher. Prior to her return here Donna Played was for 15 years solo violist and viola d’amorist with “I Solisti Veneti,” based in Padova, Italy. She has performed internationally as soloist and chamber musician in many major halls and cities of the world. She has also performed for many music festivals such as the Aspen, Salzburg, Gstaad, Edinburgh, Stresa, Rome, Stuttgart, Bonn, Berlin, Leipzig, Paris, Mediterranean, Buenos Aires, Jerusalem, Sydney and Beijing festivals. She has recorded for television and radio and can be heard on Erato, RCA, Dynamic and RAI recordings. She holds degrees from Houghton College, Eastman School of Music and The Juilliard School and was a student of Eldon Basney, Francis Tursi, Lillian Fuchs and John Graham. In addition to her solo and chamber music activities, Donna is also adjunct professor of viola at Houghton College and an active viola teacher and chamber music coach. |
